The Big Game Has Arrived!

On October 15, the Washington State Gambling Commission approved new rules that allowed casinos to spread poker with up to $100 betting limits.  During the committee process I maintained this was a crucial step towards the realization of the the full potential of brick and mortar cardrooms.

Well, after four weeks of being open, we had three full games of 3-100 spread poker...on a Tuesday night.  Yes we are giving away $499 per hour in high hands, yet of the four games we ran last night only one of them was low limit.  Why is this?

The answer is simple, we have developed the best game.  When building a poker game there are many factors to consider;  blind structure, chip denominations, dealer capabilities,  and facilities are a few.  Some of these things are obvious and others are subtle, but in the end the cardroom who builds the best game will prevail in the end.

The poker management at The Drift are poker players first. Because we are poker players we build games from a players perspective; customers love to play with us.  Our games have great structures and our dealers are professional.  We have the best equipped tables, the most liberal food comps and customer service that is taken to the highest level.  The bottom line, there is no need to drive to a tribal casino for big limit poker.

Now that online sites have effectively been shut down in Washington, The Drift is ready to embrace a new wave of clientele.  We are players and we know what players want!  Come to The Drift and play big limit poker.  It is an experience you won't soon forget.

Omaha, Omaha, Omaha!!!!

I took the night off and sat down and played a little omaha.  The game was 6-12 with a 10-20 kill.  I had a blast; sometimes I have to remind myself that I got into this business because I love playing poker, especially Omaha Hi-Lo.

It was good to see Diane, Pidge, Martin, Terry, Mr. Chang and a host of others.  For about a four hour period the game was as good as I have seen, with Mr Chang teaching a few old pros that sometimes you have "No Choice" but to call and get there.

We will be spreading Omaha every Wed. & Fri at 4pm.  I am going to be revising my floor schedule so that I can be available to focus attention to hosting that game and making it the best in Washington!

In the very near future we will be adding a daily 3-6 or 4-8 Omaha game with exciting promotions to kick the game off with.  I would love to hear any feedback that you as customers have regarding game structure and promotions.

Sorry for the delay between posts but I have had the very good problem of being extremely busy at The Drift!
